Installation
Installing the SlotCap is super easy, in most cases you just slide it into the newspaper tube and you are done. The mounting arms can be adjusted to customize how snug the SlotCap fits. Once installed it should stay put. If you have any problems, let us know.
Hopefully, you also got a new set of address stickers to complete the look. The first step is removing the old stickers and then you are set to install the new ones. Watch the videos below for some more details.

Frequently asked questions
Actually, you have a lot of flexibility in what you can do with your mailbox but a SlotCap is actually part of the post and therefore not regulated by Postmaster. In short, the SlotCap is certainly legal and it makes your entire post more attractive.
In general, there are regulations that you need to keep the same mailbox post as the rest of your neighbors but nothing saying you can’t block your newspaper slot if it is not used. We have not found an association that had a problem with this, in fact many are happy that there will no longer be tubes full of advertisements.
The SlotCap is six inches around and perfect for every round newspaper tube we have seen. If you find that you have other dimensions, let us know! The front plat is about 1/8” thick and the entire components is just under two inches including the mounting clips.
Right now, we have four products:
- Original Slot Cap – comes packaged individually and ready for easy install.
- Monogrammed Slot Cap – Comes with monogram applied also ready for installation.
- Address Stickers – This is a single custom sticker along with basic instructions and a link to the video for a little more detail on getting them installed. This is a single sticker, so don’t forget to get one for both sides.
- Sticker Lifter – Comes with a bottle of solvent and a plastic scraper.
